I saw this New York Times article detailing the voting numbers for the November 4th midterm elections and decided to share. Even though voting might seem futile, it is an integral part of our democracy that many in the past have fought or even died for. The only way our society can make changes is if people cast their votes in both “minor” and “major” elections and engage with our lawmakers (i.e. send letters, attend meetings, or have peaceful protests). The system is frustrating and is leading a lot of us to distrust; however, voting is every individual citizen’s voice that has to be heard.
