I am all for Second Amendment rights, but I also lost someone I consider a brother due to gun violence. This is such a serious problem, yet also completely unnecessary. While I understand there are definitely people responsible enough to carry weapons to protect themselves, there are obviously also those who take advantage or shouldn’t even own them.
It’s horrendous, scary even to see all the gun related killings and accidents that could have been avoided. Even worse is when people just say:
“Don’t take our guns away”
“Guns don’t kill people, people kill people”
“It was self-defense; that person could have been a real criminal”
“That person shouldn’t have trespassed if they didn’t want to get shot”
And etc
These are not the kind of people I trust with a deadly weapon. There has to be a way to keep our rights without being irresponsible about it. So while I’m pro Right To Defend Oneself, I’m also pro Right To Living Without Being Shot For No Reason.
That is my stance.
